Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains your cancellation and refund rights when you buy digital products from Your European Roots at youreuropeanroots.com. Because we sell digital-only products (an eBook and printable PDF cheat sheets) that are delivered as instant downloads, special rules apply. This policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions.

1. Our 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

We want you to feel confident buying from us. If one of our guides doesn’t help you — or simply isn’t what you hoped — email us within 30 days of purchase and we’ll refund you in full. You keep the file. No forms, no questions.

This is a voluntary goodwill guarantee that we offer in addition to, and more generously than, any rights you have under the law. To use it, just email hello@youreuropeanroots.com from the address you used to order, within 30 days, and we’ll process the refund — you do not need to give a reason.

2. Digital Products & Immediate Delivery

Our products have no physical form and are delivered electronically and immediately after purchase, via your account and email. There is nothing to return — if you request a refund under our guarantee above, you may keep the downloaded file.

3. EU / UK Right of Withdrawal for Digital Content

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal (cooling-off period) for distance purchases. The law provides an exception for digital content that is supplied immediately:

  • At checkout, you are asked to give your express consent to the immediate supply of the digital product (so you can download it right away), and
  • you acknowledge that you lose the statutory right of withdrawal once the download/performance has begun.

This matches the consent checkbox you tick during checkout. (Legal basis: the EU Consumer Rights Directive and equivalent UK consumer regulations on supply of digital content.) Note: regardless of this statutory exception, our own 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee in Section 1 still applies — we choose to offer you a fuller and longer money-back promise than the law requires. If the download has not yet begun, your standard 14-day right of withdrawal also still applies and you may cancel for a full refund.

4. Failed or Incorrect Downloads

Separately from the guarantee above, if you experience any of the following we will always fix it or refund you:

  • the download link does not work or the file is corrupted;
  • you did not receive access or the confirmation email;
  • you were charged more than once for the same product;
  • you received the wrong product;
  • the product is materially not as described.

In these cases, please contact us and we will first try to resolve the issue (for example by re-sending the file or providing a fresh download link). If we cannot make it right, we will issue a refund to your original payment method.

5. How to Request Help or a Refund

Email hello@youreuropeanroots.com with:

  • the email address used for the order,
  • your order number or receipt, and
  • a short description of the problem (optional for the 30-day guarantee).

We aim to respond promptly. Approved refunds are processed via Stripe to your original payment method; the time for the funds to appear depends on your card issuer/bank.

6. Your Statutory Rights (US, Canada, Australia & Others)

This policy does not limit any mandatory statutory rights you may have under the consumer-protection laws of your own country, where those apply — including in the United States, Canada (and applicable provincial consumer law) and Australia (including any non-excludable consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law). Where such rights apply, they take precedence over the goodwill terms above.
